Hi! Welcome & thank you for being here. My name is Emily and I wanted to add my WHY, my reason for creating Upstate OT. My goal for both of my kiddos was to breastfeed and it felt like I was ordering everything online in those first few weeks to do anything I could to establish a proper latch, fulfilling feeds for my babies, etc. What I found was that I spent a lot of time and money on things that were not addressing the root of the problem and the problem was, torticollis. Tightness that was evident in the neck region but really stemmed throughout both of my babies bodies making breastfeeding incredibly challenging. I did not feel supported in my feeding journey and felt forced to make a decision I did not want. My reasoning for beginning Upstate OT is to provide the guidance for families and their babies that I felt I was lacking. Whatever YOUR plan is for your baby/child, let’s make it happen!
